Technology plays in the important role enhancing people experience better and easier. In 2016, that was the most popular year of the Virtual Reality, because lunching of the 3 major headsets with new technologies such as Facebook’s Oculus Rift, HTC and Valve’s Vive, and Sony’s PlayStation VR. First, Virtual Reality (VR) is the simulation of another reality created by programmers and designers with putting on headset.
VR entertains people and includes the movies as well. More importantly, people can use the VR to go their favorites places in the world by putting on the headset and you will be able to see the view in VR world is exactly the same in the reality. By using VR, you might be able to see the unpredictable places like under the ocean or the beautiful places on earth which hard to reach like Amazon or Arctic.
Talking about VR games, Sony PlayStation has lunched VR tools to interact with VR world in games, and it enhances the player experience to be in the games and feel real. The tools of VR games are the headset, camera, and two types of controllers such as move controller and aim controller. Move controller is used as the sword or shield or other weapons in the VR world, and aim controller is representative of the gun in VR games, you can aim and fire in VR games. However, technology has distributed the PlayStation VR to be better. According to (Peckham, 2016), the resolution of PSVR is 1080 or known as Full HD with 120 frames per second, which gives the best quality of visuals, so there is no screen door effect, which is the most popular negative about virtual reality, the black space between the pixels. The resolution 1080 with 120 frames per second makes the image seem very solid to the players
However, the VR is the one of the latest technology in 21th century, but it costs only around $250 for VR headsets to plays VR games. Before access to VR games you have to buy PlayStation 4 to connect with the VR tools to play. According to (Smith, 2019), the PlayStation 4 is the most popular game console in the world, with over 91 million units sold. PSVR offers more than just a games. You can actually play anything on your PlayStation 4 with the VR Headset, including apps like Netflix and Hulu, and it makes you feel like you are watching your content on a big movie screen.
On the other hand, we can use VR to watch the documentary with 3D visual. In South Korea, one family lost their daughter, 7 year-old Nayeon, due to uncontrolled growth of the body’s white blood cells. According to (Hayden, 2020)the team called “Meeting you” creates the documentary series of warm memories with his mother named Ji-sung, using the power of photogrammetry, motion capture, and virtual reality. Visual is in the park the family would frequent, Nayeon giggles, touching hand, and even tells her father to quit smoking and her siblings not to fight so much. Moreover, it’s shown the Nayeon’s birthday with honey rice sweets, birthday cake, and her favorite seaweed soup. Her mother, Ji-Sung, experience happy memories together by VR.
